My Dog Hudson

My Dog Hudson

by Nui Kahuna

Last night I was cleaning up my office which has been in a horrible state of disarray since the end of July or so. I kept putting off cleaning it up, but it finally got to me. I started in about four in the afternoon, and was still working at midnight, and I suppose I am about half way through the process. Around twelve thirty I opened a box to see what was in it, and I came upon some photos that were taken about twenty years ago.

Photos of me and my Hudson, my good friend and pet dog. Hudson was a half St. Bernard, half German Shepherd and with this breed, he was a pretty big dog, weighing 145 pounds of hound. His job was to protect his master, he was trained for it.

I have never tied him with a leash throughout the years I had him. Hudson was a smart dog, I rarely had to tell him what to do, he sensed what needed to be done, I seldom ask him to stay cause he never strayed, and we always walked together.

Hudson loved to play with me, with kids or with other dogs. He would fetch a ball 300 times, he'd play with other dogs, and he loved to play with small kids and lay down on them or he'd let the kids come to him.

My Hudson was never mean nor wild. He was very disciplined. He took everything so calmly. Even if he felt there was a threat, he'd just stand with his paw and gaze at them like challenging or warning them not to do a wrong move. He had knocked a few mooks with his paws though, but he never bit one.

Sadly, Hudson was killed during a deer hunting trip by a stray bullet. Who did it, I have not discovered because they left the area quickly. I buried him on a mountain, so he could see the whole valley. Hudson is more than just a dog, he did his job far beyond one can expect, he had always alerted me to danger I didn't see many times. He had a good life.

Hudson was gone quite a while, no more pet to alert me from any danger. But, I have this virtual alarm system called Secure Dog, that uses a radar like wave to see through bricks, cement, glass and wood.

The virtual alarm system can feel a presence of someone within 22 feet, then starts barking like crazy. You are then alarmed that there's a mook outside your house. Now, I feel like I have my Hudson back.

Junkies hates noise, it's against their agenda. And most of them are in fact are scared of big dogs, especially big dogs. With Secure Dog, it provides you the Big Dog sound alert, without having to spend for dog food or for a vet check up. - 20511
