When pen guiding a dog the age doesnt really matter until they become old enough for it. It is usually good to train a dog in the early stages but it can not bar one from the training. Despite the age, pet training is compulsory for every dog, but all this said, not each dog will make it to be petted.

As the puppy gets older, he finds it difficult to live in confined space and rightly so. And in such cases, we need to fence them in the corner of the kitchen.

Crating an elderly dog is delicate and must be handled with utmost care. Older dogs do not have the flexibility and the level of control that they used to in young age. First and foremost, the dog has to be made comfortable in open cages with motivators like toys and food.

Once the dog is getting acquainted to that, now you may lock it in and let it stay there for a longer period of time, when it is fully going on well with that it can be locked up for much longer time. When released it must be in full view of the owner.

Keep escorting the dog outside the potty area, so that they dont get confused or frightened by the accident happened. Make sure that you clean it up and move on with the training process.

The older dogs can have numerous medical issues that can effect their bladder and bowels as they may constantly have accidents, then you may need to take them to the vet during the house training. You need to take extra care, love, understanding and patience to the older dogs which are being trained. These dogs may need your extra attention regularly.

Patience and understanding plays a key role while crate training a dog, puppy or an adult dog. No matter about the age as and when the dog becomes older it get on harder.
