If you can't find a good way for your dog to be trained to stay in your yard, check out wireless fence. With this system, you can avoid the unattractive appearance of some fenced yards and let your pet enjoy the scenery. The best and easiest way of dog training today, wireless fence is very new. The system consists of a transmitter box and receiver collars which work together to help your dog understand the limits and boundaries of his territory. You can program the wireless fence to have your dog stay away from other yards, the road, and your gardens, just keep in mind with wireless the area covered will generally be circular.
Before you begin the training process, it's best to familiarize your dog with the area in which you will restrict him. The best way to do this is by marking the boundary areas with brightly colored flags. This will help your dog visually note the area. Voice commands will also be useful for teaching your dog about the boundaries.
After a few days, your dog should have a good idea of the place he can be. While this training is underway, you can put the collar on your dog to give him the feel of it. The next part of the training is connecting the transmitter. The transmitter broadcasts a signal where your dog's boundaries are not. The collar will pick up the broadcast signal if your dog goes where he shouldn't.
If the dog is entering the area that has the frequency signal running through it, then the collar will transmit a warning tone. This warning increases in intensity until it can force the dog out of the place he's not supposed to be. If needed, a static shock is put in. The warning is only a warning and won't hurt him. It is one of the only ways to have negative reinforcement as a training method. The dog will quickly realize when and why the tone and static shock is happening and will identify the colored flags, the tone, the static shock, and the training as being the same thing. It won't be very long before he stays in his territory only. Wireless fence does not lessen his playfulness but does eliminate the use of chains, leashes, and fences.
You can use this method for several dogs as long as each is wearing a wireless fence collar. Every collar will be capable of picking up the signal from the transmitter. The equipment for these wireless fences is easy to install. There are no holes to dig. There is no fencing to measure and there are absolutely no wires involved. Wireless fences are maintenance free. You only need to make sure your accessories are working and if not, you can just buy another one.
Wireless fences are made by a wide variety of different brands. You can control your pet safely and humanely using one of these systems. Many dogs can handle using the collar without any batteries. The dogs will continue to stay in their yard because they know where the wireless fence is. - 20511
