With Dog GPS, Never Lose Your Pet Again

Have you heard about a dog tracker? Do you need a system that can help you track your dog 24 hours a day and 7 days a week, all year round? You can no longer lose your dog and you can recover it even when stolen. Read on and discover how this system works.

GPS when expanded reads Global Positioning System. The dog GPS is a system that is electronically designed to monitor the movement of dogs. Many dog owners have faced the challenge of losing their dog or the dog may come back home late. You can easily locate the where about of your dog with the electronic tracker. The dog GPS consists of two parts; the GPS collar that is usually fastened to the dog, and a receiver that displays information for the dog parent or owner. There are various types of dog trackers in different sizes and prices. The Dog GPS produced earlier are bulky but more recent ones are lighter and portable.

Most of the types of Dog GPS today use rechargeable battery. Their method of operation also varies from type to type. In some types, information from the collar attached to the dog is transmitted through GSM, e-mail or fax. Some others include a screen which displays information for the dog owner.

The dog GPS has a number of advantages over the manual dog tracker. The manual dog tracker consists of a simple collar on which is written, important tracking information including name of dog, owner's address and relevant contact information. But in a situation where the wonders away from residential areas so that people can not see it, the manual dog tracker can not do any thing.

The dog GPS often sends alerts to the dog owner indicating the particular location of the dog from time to time. In a situation where the dog goes beyond the set boundary, the alert sent will enable the owner to know and look for it online. You can follow the direction of the dog by following the data displayed.

The dog GPS also allows you to know the places your dog visited when it comes back. This is interesting, as it will give you information on the activities of your dog. Dogs could display certain habits such as visiting a particular place more often. Dogs do this either in connection with food availability or a companion dog is present.

An example of modern dog GPS is the Garmin. It does not require GSM to work. This means that it can work anywhere on earth including places without GSM coverage. It has additional advantage in that no extra communication fee or monthly payment is involved. The dog owner sets up a fence and the device produces audible alarm any time the dog exceeds the defined perimeter. The Garmin dog tracker has an LCD colour screen, which is capable of displaying location, velocity and direction of the dog. You don't need any installation. The Garmin GPS can track as much as 3 dogs simultaneously.

Another good example is the Gamin Astro. Like the Romeo it does not require GSM. But unlike the Romeo it sends information from dog to owner through radio signals. It has two parts; a potable transmitter, which is called DC 20 and a portable colour screen GPS device which is hand-held. To activate the system, the transmitter and hand-held should be taken out doors and turned on to acquire satellite signals. The transmitter is then worn on the dog. The system can monitor up to 10 dogs at the same time.

The GPS technology is a modern technological innovation that can also keep watch on animals, vehicles and human beings. You can also use it to monitor your little children. - 20511
