It is a well known fact that dogs are man's best friend. They are very helpful to humans. They prove to be great companions, as well as very good guardians. They can be both our companions and our protectors. That's why it's no surprise that they make better pets than cats. Here are are many reasons why dogs are better than cats as pets.

To begin with, dogs are associated with safety. This is mainly due to their acute sense of hearing and impressive sense of smell. Having a dog as a pet is like having a 24-hour security guard in your house. They guard you and your house even when you are asleep. If they feel that something is wrong, they start barking and make you aware of that's wrong. Anyone who has a pet dog in their house feels safer. This is unlikely to happen if you have a pet cat.

A dog is a much more loyal and caring pet as compared to a cat. Dogs have the ability to understand you and your emotions well. When you're having problems, you can vent to your dog. They're always willing to listen. They will listen attentively to everything you say. Hell also try to give you comfort and change your mood. On the other hand, a cat neither understands you nor is bothered about the way you feel.

Dogs are very warm animals. They never harbor ill feelings. The moment you come back from work your dog will be happy to see you. He will initiate play by jumping on you and licking your legs and face. A cat, unlike dogs, tends to harbor grudges. They won't pay attention to you for weeks.

These pets are always their for their owners whenever they are in need. Dogs cannot see anyone harming them. They start wagging their tails when someone looks at their owners. Because their loyalty holds no bounds, they would do anything to defend their owners. However, if you have a cat as a pet you cannot expect the same. Cats are likely to go for safety.

All these definitely prove that as pets dogs are far more superior than cats. After all, it's not enough to say that a "Dog is a man's best friend". Dogs will give you unconditional love until the end. That is why dogs are a much better pet to own than cats. They are just more fun. - 20511
