Dog Obedience Training For Your Adult Dog

Dog Obedience Training For Your Adult Dog

by Matt McGrath

If you are going to be a dog owner you need to take into consideration the importance of training your dog for obedience. A well-trained dog is a joy to own and a pleasure to be around but a poorly trained dog that is rowdy and rambunctious causes everyone around to be miserable. As a responsible dog owner you need to make sure that your dog is well-trained and well-behaved.

A well-trained dog needsless restrictions and will not create difficulties for his owner. In fact, training a dog properly will pay off in many ways. A dog that has had adequate amounts of dog obedience training is able to have less confinement, will always cooperate with neighbors and friends and will not create awkwardness for his owner. Proper training of a dog will always reflect well upon the owner.

If your dog is well-trained most people react positively towards them and you. Poorly trained dogs that bark too much or jump around like crazy and jump all around and jump up and on other people make everybody nervous including you, the owner of the dog. A well-behaved dog is just nicer to own and nicer for everyone to be around.

Dog's that are well-trained in obedience and will sit down upon command and heel nicely are much more often welcome in public outings with other people and other pets. Positive attention and happy interactions with other people and other animals is also easier and more frequent. Well-trained dogs are easy to love and better to get along with for everybody.

As a conscientious dog owner you need to take care of your dog obedience training. Training a dog can reinforce the bond between the dog and his owner. Training a dog forges mutual respect, communication, and understanding and makes it apparent to your dog that as his master and owner you are the "alpha dog". If your dog respects you as the leader you will dodge many problems especially if your dog is a high strung and rowdy by nature.

Keeping your dog safe is easier when he is appropriately trained in obedience. If your dog reacts immediately to your commands you can keep him safe in crowds, heavy traffic areas and more. Your dog will return to you when you call if he happens to leave the yard also. This can save you much time and irritation.

A well-behaved and appropriately trained dog is a pleasure to own. You will be able to take your dog anywhere and not risk embarrassment or fear for the safety of your dog or of other people. With appropriate dog obedience training your dog will exhibit proper behavior in a crowd, good manners around guests and he will be non-threatening to other pets and people and dependable around children.

You will enjoy owning your dog much more if you take the time, energy and money to appropriately train your dog. Both you and your dog will be happier, freer and more at ease. - 20511
