Pet Adoption Rescue Is A Sad Necessity In This Country

Pet Adoption Rescue Is A Sad Necessity In This Country

by Anthony Pace

It is unfortunate that pet adoption rescue services need to take place daily in this country. It's a tragic commentary on how we treat pets. Animals of every stripe are neglected, abused and even discarded as if they have no feelings of suffering and pain associated with loss of care.

The reality is that most abandoned animals left on the street will find their way to an animal shelter and end up being put to death because no one wants to adopt them. Each day across the United States, in every city, this tragedy occurs again and again.

There are just too many pets born in this country every year and the lack of loving homes for each pet makes the need for pet rescue burdensome. The problem of overpopulation by animals that are unwanted would be much less if cat and dog owners would take more of a responsible role by neutering and spaying their pets.

The Humane Society along with countless unnamed tireless individuals, do their best to save as many pets as they can from euthanasia by finding homes for as many animals as possible. Many pet adoption agencies are staffed by volunteers who give up their precious time to make sure dogs, cats and other pet animals are treated with dignity.

Experts in the area of pet rescue do not recommend that people buy their next pet from a local pet store. Quite often these animal were bought from "puppy mill" settings where profit is the only consideration. At these puppy mills, squalid, atrocious and generally inhumane conditions exist for the cats, dogs and other animals.

Pet adoption rescue professionals postulate that you continue the cycle of animal cruelty when you purchase your pets from a pet store that buys animals from puppy mills. You can deter the abuse of animals by buying your future pet at a pet adoption center or from your local SPCA where there are an abundant number of pets looking for a loving home.

All the pets born would be loved and cared for if this were an ideal world. Tragically, neglect and abuse takes place by too many breeders who view their pets as a commodity. It's a sad state of affairs that so many animals are treated inhumanely when these creatures that inhabit our world deserve all the honor and dignity we can provide.

You can be part of the solution that will reduce the demand for pet adoption rescues in the US by getting a pound or pet shelter pet. Then, to make sure there are no unintentional pregnancies, spay or neuter your dogs or cats at the appropriate time. And finally, bestow on your pet all your love and care so it is happy and healthy in its short stay on earth. - 20511
