Can You Really Stop Dog Whining

Have you just adopted a puppy but your puppy just keeps on whining? Maybe your neighbors are very unhappy and are complaining to you? If your answer is yes, you are probably not sure what to do now. You still want to keep your puppy but the problems is, you don't know how to stop him from whining.

How can you really stop your dog from whining then? Here are a few ways that you might want to consider. One thing you can do is to purchase an electrical device that gives out a certain sound. This sound is only audible to a dog but is extremely unpleasant for a dog. Another method to stop your dog from whining is to stay consistent. Every time he whines, tell him to stop.

The drawback is that you will need to be there all the time, or at the very least, most of the time. However, if you give it enough time, your dog may stay quiet and stop whining once and for all. Fortunately, there are more than 1 way to stop whining as well as other inappropriate behaviors. But for the time being, we will just focus on two of those methods.

Devices

Sound devices like the one described above to make your dog stop whining don't cost that much and they don't hurt the dog. They just emit a sound that's unpleasant to the dog. Imagine if you were to hear a loud piercing squeal every time you ate junk food. Pretty soon you'd probably stop eating junk food because you couldn't bear to hear that sound ever again.

Generally, this is how those devices work to help you stop your dog from whining. If you are not too sure about the devices and how they work, or maybe you just dislike the idea of annoying your pet, or you are afraid of causing harm to your dog, don't worry. There are other alternative methods that you can use to stop your dog from whining.

Consistency In Training

The other way to make your dog stop whining is to be there whenever he starts to whine. When it does, make a loud noise or tell him no. Do not ever hit the dog. You should never hit the animal no matter what behavior he engages in.

Hitting your dog is not an effective training method anyway. There are better methods you can use to stop your pet from whining besides hitting him. You can consider clapping your hands together or slapping a newsletter against your hand to stop any inappropriate behavior your dog engages in.

Because dog ears are extremely sensitive, that's why the devices above work very well. Although you won't feel bothered by a newspaper being slap against your palm, your dog will feel bothered. So, each time you dog starts to whine, do it. Stay consistent and eventually, your dog will just stop whining. Only then can you and your neighbors enjoy the much awaited peace. - 20511
