It is always fun to get a new puppy but it will be easier if you have a few of the things that you need on hand before he comes back home. You will want to begin schooling him right away to be a fine puppy resident and a valued member of your family. It is easier if you have the equipment that you need on hand.
There is an plenty of things that you can get for your new puppy. Some of these things are functional and useful to have and others are not really necessary.
Probably the most notable thing that you will require is a crate. Dogs like to have their own space that is snug and comfy just for them. All of your instruction will be easier if you employ a crate. Get one that is the accurate size for your puppy. If you take your puppy with you in the automobile very often you may want to get two.
You will also need a collar and a leash. Get at least one collar that fits well and then you can get special training collars later. One six-foot leash that feels nice in your hand is also needed.
Plan what your puppy will eat and get some food and water dishes. Stainless steel is generally best. Try to find out what brand of food your puppy has been used to eating and get enough of that for at least a few weeks. All dietetic changes should be made gradually.
In order to be ready to start your training without delay you will need to have some soft treats to reward your puppy and also some type of aversive. An aversive will discourage your dog from unmanageable activities as it is something that is entirely harmless but your dog doesn't like it and will do everything he can to circumvent it. A clicker that makes a noise or a squirt bottle that squirts water are examples of diverse types of an aversive.
Young puppies need to chew until they get a bit larger so you will want to have some chew toys on hand. Start out with just a few until you know what your puppy likes. Same with other toys do not load up on toys until you know your puppy's individuality.
When you are prepared you will be able to have more pleasure with your puppy, training him to stroll on a leash and play. All of your training will be easier also if you are set. - 20511
